Whenever friends and family visit Seoul, I try to guide them to places where they could take pictures that represent Seoul.
Here are some of the places that I have been to or want to go to because it gives you a nice view including the Namsan Tower.
*Google Maps links at the bottom of the post.
1- Bukchon Hanok Village
Bukchon Hanok Village is a neighborhood on a hill that has many traditional Korean style homes. From some of the streets, you can see Namsan Tower in the distance.
2- Naksan Park (Hyehwa)
Naksan Park is a place great for a casual exercise uphill from Hyehwa Station. From multiple parts of the park, you can see Namsan Tower in the distance.
3- L7 Hotel (Myeongdong)
L7 Hotel, which is right next to Myeongdong Station, is one of the places I want to go to for the Namsan Tower view. Its rooftop bar looks great for an anniversary date. They’re open from 6 pm to 1 am.
4- Graddhyllan 그레트힐란 (Itaewon- Gyeongnidangil 경리단길)
A few days ago, I went to this cafe on Gyeongnidangil. The entrance is tiny, so it may be easy to miss! Every customer must order at least one item at the second floor, and then take the elevator up to the 5th floor for the rooftop seats. There are only about 7 tables, so there may be no seats on busy days. There are some indoor seats available on the 3rd and 4th floor as well. The workers will bring the drinks to your seat.
All the drinks and desserts are a little pricey, so it may be good for just a one time experience. They are open from 12 to 11 pm on weekdays and 12 pm to 12 am on weekends, and it’s a 10-15 minute walk from Noksapyeong Station.
5- Ferry roasters cafe 페리로스터즈 (Itaewon- Gyeongnidangil 경리단길)
I went to this cafe a few months ago to get the mini-donut coffee, but I learned later that they had rooftop seats where you can see the Namsan Tower as well!
This cafe is located near the Graddhyllan cafe but hidden in a narrow street connected to the Gyeongnidangil. The closest station is Noksapyeong Station and it’s about a 10 minute walk. Their hours are from 12 to 10 pm.
6- Avant Garde Rooftop 아방가르드 루프탑 (Itaewon)
This is on my to-go list of restaurants. The rooftop restaurant/bar is a 5 minute walk from Noksapyeong Station exit 2.
They serve cocktails, non-alcohol cocktails, beer, wine, salad, pasta, pizza, and other side dishes.
7-o r a n g ² 오랑오랑 (Itaewon- Haebangchon 해방촌)
The name orang orang seems to come from the animal orangutan.
This cafe looks like it will be very difficult to find if you don’t have Naver Maps installed on your phone. It is hidden in a small street and it’s about 20 minute walk from exit 2 of Noksapyeong Station.
The third floor seems to be their rooftop floor, and their indoor seating has a nice atmosphere as well.
They are open from 11 am to 11 pm from Monday to Saturday and 11 am to 10 pm on Sundays. They serve coffee, tea, soda, and tiramisu.
8- Mal Car 말카 (Itaewon- Gyeongnidangil 경리단길)
This is another rooftop cafe in Gyeongnidangil, Itaewon. It is located between the Ferry Roasters cafe and the Graddhyllan cafe.
I can’t wait to try their cinnamon roll and cakes!
They are closed on Mondays, open Tuesday to Friday from 1 pm to 12 am, Saturdays from 1pm to 11 pm and Sundays from 1 pm to 10 pm.
Which one would you want to visit? And do you know any other places with a nice view of the Seoul Namsan Tower? 🙂
