The Moomin Cafe near Apgujeong Rodeo Station, Seoul

As a Japanese American, I already knew Moomin because Moomin was popular in Japan since a while back. I remember going to the Moomin Cafe in Japan about six years ago.

But now, Moomin has been all over Seoul these days.

It’s in Daiso.

It’s in GS25, the convenient store.

And if you check #무민 on instagram, you can see that there are even more Moomin stuff in Korea now. There’s a Moomin Exhibition coming up in September as well. The preview tickets are available on interpark (I couldn’t find the English version of this page).

All of these Moomin products reminded me
that there was actually a Moomin cafe that opened in May 2016.

Cafe Moomin&Me is located in Apgujeong, Seoul.
You can easily find this brightly colored store when you get on the right street.

First, you will be greeted by Moominmama and Moominpapa. Behind them are a wide variety of Moomin goods that could sound a little pricey to some people.

On the basement there was a “Moomin Valley” that would be perfect for instagram pictures.

On the second floor there was a cafe.

They had coffee, lattes, tea, other beverages, macaroons, cupcakes, cakes, and cookies.

Raspberry, Milk, Banana
Oreo, Caramel, Vanilla
The milk tea was too sweet in my opinion.

The macaroons were cute, but it was more like a soft cookie than a macaroon.

Overall, their food and drinks are not high quality, but this cafe is great for pictures 🙂
