Update: This exhibition ended on August 31, 2017. 😦
Were you jealous of your facebook or instagram friends updating their selfie in the infinity room by Kusama Yayoi? Now you can get a similar experience near Jamsil Station in Seoul, Korea.
Team Lab World is located next to Lotte World in Jamsil, Seoul, Korea. From Jamsil Station, you must walk towards the signs for Lotte World. When you face the Lotte World entrance, you have to follow the street on the right of it.
This is the Team Lab World entrance.
I got my discounted ticket from T-mon. If you know enough Korean, I would recommend getting tickets from there. If you need help, I can make a blog post about how to use T-mon 😉
If not, buy the tickets at the counter there. 🙂 It’s 20,000 KRW for one adult and the discounted price is only a 2,000 KRW difference.
Get a hole punch for your ticket and enter the digital theme park! Remember that there is no flash photography or selfies sticks allowed in the area. *SPOILER ALERT*
We were amazed by the first room. The picture doesn’t do justice for how vibrant it looked.
In the next room, there was a drawing station for sea creatures.
First you had to choose a paper with a shape of some kind of fish, and color it in however you’d like. Then we scanned the picture.
Where’s my fish??
Aha, there it is~ when I touched it, it swam away. It seems like you would get better results if you color it darker.
The next room had a ceiling full of colorful balls.
When you rolled the balls on the ground, the corresponding balls on the ceiling made a sound. Each ball has a different sound so it’s like you’re playing music by rolling the balls.
Next to the colorful balls was another drawing station. This time it was amphibians and reptiles.
After the scan…
It came alive on the floor! When you tried to step on it, it crawled away. After this drawing station there was another area with motor vehicles, but we were tired of drawing by that time. 😛
Another small room had a table with items and lights. When you moved the items, the lights followed, and showed different pictures.
Before we entered the last room, we were warned that this was the end, and we won’t be able to go back to the other rooms. We were also told to not touch the lights or step out of the pathway.
It was great taking pictures here, because no one was there to rush us. I definitely recommend going there on a weekday night. It takes about two hours to see the entire place, so make sure to enter before 8 pm.
