If you like karaoke as much as I do, you feel the urge to go if you haven’t been there for a while. Since I had more than an hour to spare before meeting up with my friend, I jumped into a solo karaoke room.
Soo Noraebang is a big karaoke chain, but this location only has solo and pair rooms. You have to pay first. Tell them if you’re singing for an hour or for two hours. If you don’t say anything they’ll assume it’s just an hour. They may also ask if you are interested in the unlimited drinks (1,000 KRW). After your payment, they will give you your receipt and a basket with a headset and a microphone cover.
When you step into the room, you’ll see this.
Connect your headset here!
1. They will give a free karaoke ticket for those who upload their recordings on their facebook page. 2. If you want to record your voice, they rent USBs, so you can use the computer outside later to send it through e-mail or SNS. 3. Unlimited drinks are available for 1,000 KRW.
At first, I couldn’t think of which songs I wanted to sing, so I ended up adding random songs. After 30 minutes, I got the hang of it, and started singing all my favorites. After another 30 minutes, I didn’t want to leave the room. Good thing they added an extra 30 minutes for free! Next time I want to prep myself with a list of songs and go for two hours 🙂
Their rating system was pretty strict, and it was hard to maintain a high score throughout the song.
Only bad thing about this place is that when you’re between songs, you can hear your neighbor’s singing voice without the music and the mic effects… which means that people probably heard me too. But everyone’s just there to enjoy singing anyways, so what is there to be embarrassed about?
