Spicy Octopus with Cheese


Here’s another one of my favorite Korean dishes to eat with cheese… Spicy grilled baby octopus with cheese fondue! There are several chains for this menu, and one of them is called Jjukkumi Dalin (쭈꾸미 달인, Baby Octopus Master) . Their stores are located in Nowon, Suyu, Itaewon, Cheonan, and Hongdae. Seems like they have been opening up more locations.

Walk out of Suyu Station exit 5.
Turn right at the corner with Twosome Place. Walk straight for 3-5 minutes until you see this restaurant on your right side.

Main Menu 
매운쭈꾸미 (10,000 KRW) Baby Octopus
쭈꾸미 삼겹 (12,000 KRW) Baby Octopus + Pork
쭈꾸미새우 (12,000 KRW) Baby Octopus + Shrimp
모듬쭈꾸미 (12,000 KRW) Baby Octopus + Pork + Shrimp
*You have to choose your level of spice (#1-3).
I warn you, #1, which is “mild,” is pretty spicy.

Side Menu
Extra toppings: Pork, shrimp, sweet potato rice cake,
cheese rice cake, burnt rice, assorted rice cakes (1,000-7,000 KRW).
Steamed eggs (3,000 KRW)

Complimentary sides

  • Ginseng honey milk (prep your stomach for some spice!)
  • Pickled onion
  • Corn with mayo
  • Pickled radish
  • Boiled cabbage and sesame leaves (use these to wrap the spicy octopus)
  • Raw carrots
  • Garlic
  • Gochujang
  • Soup
    *And of course, many of these sides can be refilled like any other Korean restaurant.
