Have you ever seen the Crayon Pop “Bar Bar Bar” music video? Maybe you know the song better as “Jumping, jumping, jumping, jumping! Everybo~dy!” They filmed part of it in an old amusement park called Yongma Land in northeastern Seoul.
It is currently not operating as an amusement park, but is a popular place for photo shoots.
How to get there:
From Jungang Line Mangu Station, it’s a 25 minutes walk. (You could take the bus as well, but in the end it takes the same amount of time.)
After you get to a part where three narrow streets intersect, you will be going up a slight uphill. You’ll pass by a middle school on your left at #8. The road will make a left curve towards a parking lot, and then you’ll see this rusty old gate.
You’ll see this sign on your left, but ignore this and continue walking straight.
If you’re out of the breath by the time you get to this main gate, you’re probably out of shape like me… haha
It is very easy to trespass this place, but please make sure to call the phone number (010-9671-6104) to get the manager, and pay the 5,000 KRW entrance fee to him. If you can’t speak Korean, just say “Yongma Land” and he’ll just come over to the gate for you.
I recommend going there while there are beautiful autumn leaves.
Another music video was filmed at Yongma Land:
