June 2016 Update- Location Closed

new_temp_collage_1411439327.053806   Are you a fan of Rilakkuma, a Japanese teddy bear character? If you go to the neighborhood of Sungshin Women’s University in Seoul, you can find a cafe full of them. How to get there: IMG_3846   Line 4 Sungshin Women’s University Station. As you can see from the map, you can either take exit 1 or exit 2 to get there, but I recommend taking exit 1 to enjoy seeing the shopping area. 1. Go straight out of exit 1 and make a right at the next street. 2. Walk through a street full of small stores and cafes. There should be a KFC on your right. 3. Continue walking until you get to an intersection with a wider street. Cross that street and make a left. 4. Try to find the tiny charcoal gray entrance of the cafe on your right. There is a steep hill on the opposite side of the street. IMG_3847The actual name of the cafe is Capi Capi Loom Loom. Once you enter this narrow entrance, you will be welcomed by a hallway full of Rilakkuma goods. I got too excited at first, so the pictures got blurry. There are more things beyond the hallway as well.

*April 2015 Update: Seems like the name of the store changed to 공상 Cafe! Now it looks like this:

The price is reasonable. Enjoy some coffee, tea, juice, smoothies, non-Korean snacks(like twix and rice krispies), bingsu (shaved ice), and ice cream!! *Each customer must buy at least one drink. IMG_3856 IMG_3857 IMG_3863 IMG_3862 Peanut butter bread… Nutella bread… Oreo Bingsu… so tempting!! IMG_3861   My friends and I went there on a Sunday afternoon, but they were not that busy. The cafe is not big, but they probably have seats for about 30 people. Choose the Asian style floor seats or chairs! They will have the warm ondol floor during the winter. IMG_3908 If you would like to enjoy a relaxing time with your friends while being surrounded by Rilakkuma’s cuteness, go go go! zppr Let’s just pretend that you didn’t know about its back zipper… and the rumor that a balding middle-aged man is inside that Rilakkuma suit.
